Biography
Dr. Alireza Pourreza is an Associate Professor of Extension in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering and the Director of the Digital Agriculture Lab at the University of California, Davis. He leads a forward-thinking research and extension education program in digital agriculture, focusing on remote sensing, precision agriculture, and mechanization. Dr. Pourreza's innovative research program is dedicated to addressing pressing challenges in crop production systems as identified by stakeholders. His lab specializes in developing practical, data-driven decision-support tools that enable farmers to enhance profitability while minimizing waste and environmental impact.
In addition to his academic and research responsibilities, Dr. Pourreza is a permanent member of the Club of Bologna, a prestigious global task force focused on agricultural mechanization. He also serves as an Associate Editor for the journal Computers and Electronics in Agriculture.
