Kyle holds a B.S. in Biological Systems Engineering from UC Davis and is continuing his studies as a master's student. He has prior experience in pharmaceutical automation and rainout shelter mechanization. He enjoys cycling and film photography.

His current research seeks to develop a remote, drought stress detection method for turfgrass in California based on multispectral imagery and hyperspectral data. Advances in remote sensing may improve insight into turfgrass health, leading to better municipal and agricultural irrigation management decisions during water restriction periods.
