Biography

Momtanu joined the digital ag lab as a Ph.D. student in April 2021. Before that, she was working at Pix4D for 3 years as an agriculture specialist. Momtanu has a Master's degree in agricultural engineering from Washington State University and a Master's in geoinformatics and natural resources engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. She is experienced in remote sensing and geospatial applications in agriculture with a focus on processing ground, aerial, and satellite images (RGB, multispectral, hyperspectral, LiDAR, 3D camera). Her research is focused on establishing image processing and data mining pipelines for specialty crops in California. She is also a member of the Plant AI and Biophysics lab.
